Cybersecurity Certification Training

The entry-level Cybersecurity track starts with understanding the basics of hardware, software, and networking. The required core classes provide students with knowledge on:

• Hardware and software components
• Managing and maintaining devices and peripherals
• Understanding file systems
• Data storage
• System components
• Managing wireless devices, printers, and multifunctional device

 In addition, these courses will cover the OSI model and an introduction to TCP/IP.

Both Cybersecurity tracks will cover the basics of computer security, including identifying security threats and vulnerabilities, identify and implement account management security measures, implement compliance and operations security measures, plan for disaster recovery, introduction to the Linux environment, including setting up managing, configuring, implementing and troubleshooting Linux environments. The last required class is CompTIA CySA+ which introduces students to the specifics of cybersecurity including assessing security risk in network environments, analyzing threats, attacks and post-attack techniques, implementing vulnerability management, collecting cybersecurity intelligence, reviewing data in security and event logs, responding to cybersecurity threats, investigating incidents, and addressing any security issues with the organization’s technology architecture.

CompTIA CASP+ covers topics such as IT governance and risk management, integrating advanced authentication and authorization techniques, implementing cryptographic techniques, implementing security controls for hosts and mobile devices, implementing network security and adding security into the software development lifecycle, conducting security assessments and responding and recovering from incidents.

CISSP divides security into eight domains including security and risk management, asset security, security architecture and engineering, communication and network security, identity and access management, security assessment and testing, security operations and software development security.
